Description

DESCRIPTION: A tournament for those who like to play with only 30-50 weapons selected.

Set up: 8 players. Double-elimination tournament. Players are eliminated after their 2nd loss. After 1 loss, the player competes in the Losers Bracket. If he loses again, he is eliminated. If he wins the Loser Bracket, he advances to the championship against the winner of the Winners Bracket. I believe this method better determines a champion than a single-elimination tournament.

GAMEPLAY: Players can use any weapons they want and MUST have between 30 and 50 total weapons selected. This is a stacked* format tournament, meaning you should try to play with as close to 30 as possible. I don’t recommend playing with 50, but that is up to you.

*Stacked games are 30-weapon games that allow players to “stack” their arsenal with the strongest weapons in the game. If you play with more than 50 weapons, you will not be able to compete.

Weapon glitches are NOT allowed: These include close-range use of Spinner, Super Nova, and Porcupine.

SCHEDULE: Each round, you will be scheduled to play a specific opponent in a best of 3 series that must be completed within 5 days (first to win 2 games wins the match and advances).

Days 1-5: Quarterfinals (all 8 teams)
Days 6-10: Winners Bracket Semi-Finals (4 teams) and Losers Bracket 1st Round (4 teams)
Days 11-15: Winners Bracket Finals (2 teams) and Losers Bracket 2nd Round (4 teams)
Days 16-10: Losers Bracket Round 3 (2 teams) and Round 4 (2 teams)
Days 21-25: Championship Match

In each series, players will take turns shooting first: The person shooting first in game 1 of a series will be the one with the higher winning percentage in games. If it's even, the one who did not get to shoot first in the previous round will shoot first. If both or neither player shot first in the previous round, the first shot will be assigned randomly by the league commissioner using an online random number generator (higher number goes first).

The winner is responsible for reporting game results on Binarybeast.com after EACH game, not at the end of the whole match. There is a "Report Results" next to each matchup in the bracket. It is required that you upload a screenshot of the game result (the final screen that pops up after the 10th shot).

OUTSIDE MATCHES: Please refrain from playing each other on your own while the tournament is in progress, to avoid any disagreements or confusion as to which games were tournament games.

Also, as a courtesy to other players, DO NOT start playing your next round opponent until after the current round is over - this may mean having to wait a couple of days for the other matches to finish. If you start early, the game won't count.

COMMUNICATION: Throughout the tournament, we will communicate on the Blitwise Pocket Tanks forum in the Tournaments thread. We can also communicate via group email.

CHEATING & HACKING: Let's have fun and play using only paid licensed versions of Pocket Tanks. No hacked versions of the game are allowed. If you suspect your opponent of unfair gaming, take screenshots and report them to the commissioner. If anyone is found to be cheating, they will be disqualified from the tournament.

TAUNTING: In keeping with the Blitwise mission, this is a family-friendly tournament. No harsh profanity or vulgarity. And please no taunting other players with fake usernames.

To avoid trolls who pose at other players or seek entry under multiple usernames, some users may not be permitted into the tournament, based on the commissioner's discretion. Any interested participants are asked to first contact the commissioner and provide at least a first name, Pocket Tanks username, and email address.

COMMISSIONER CONTACT: Contact Bill at pttourney@yandex.com or send a PM to Metallian through the Blitwise forum.
